TROY, MI – Dave Trott, candidate for Congress in Michigan’s 11th Congressional District, released the following statement regarding the terror attacks in Minnesota, New York, and New Jersey:
“Over the weekend, there were separate events which have put this nation on heightened watch. These events were an explosion in New York City, which injured 29 people, an explosion on the New Jersey shore at a charity race for the Marine Corps, and an attack in St. Cloud, Minnesota, where a man stabbed several people at a mall before being killed by an off-duty police officer. Our prayers are with all those who have been hurt by these senseless acts and we are thankful to our law enforcement who have quickly captured the New Jersey suspect. All events show that our nation continues to be threatened by terrorist activity and we must be vigilant. Our nation must act with strong, determined resolve against ISIS and any other terrorist group that threatens our security. It is critical that we support our intelligence and law enforcement communities, work to stop potential terrorists from being influenced by ISIS propaganda, and put in place reforms that will strengthen the vetting process for individuals entering out nation.”
